Chase Mahabir scored three goals, including the game-winner with about a minute left in overtime, to carry the Midland boys' lacrosse team to a 10-9 victory over host Orchard Lake St. Mary in Wednesday's season opener.

"It was kind of back-and-forth," said Midland coach Joe Stadelmaier. "We started off strong and got up 4-1, but then it kind of went back-and-forth from there."

Ryan Sisitki had two goals and an assist for Midland, while Ryan Stadelmaier also scored twice, and Elliot Moore added a goal and an assist. Lars George and Evan Chronowski both scored once, while Mahabir had an assist.

Midland goalie Jack Erickson made 10 saves.

Midland (1-0) will host Davison on April 4 at Midland Stadium.
