Boys Varsity lost a tough battle at Saline 16-12 on Saturday evening. They were led in scoring by Elliot Moore (2G,2A) and Ryan Stadelmaier (3G, 1A). Finn Moore had 2 goals and 1 assist, Ryan Sisitki had 3 goals, Chase Mahabir had 1 goal and 1 assist, Christian Gordon had 1 goal, and Mason Reed had 1 assist.

Jack Erickson made 20 saves in goal, Ethan Richard led the team with 5 ground balls, and Mahabir and Joey Cullinane each won 4 faceoffs.

Head Coach Joe Stadelmaier commented after the game: “I thought we played well when we had the ball on offense, but we’re really struggling defensively right now. Our goalie kept us in the game with some great saves, but we need to get more consistency in our defensive play and in the transition game from defense to offense. Saline is obviously a very strong team, and they got some great play from their faceoff guys and their long poles on ground balls. We tried several different things to try to stop their attackman #2, but we didn’t find that answer tonight. Regardless, we need to bounce back, learn from the losses this weekend, and get better all around as a team.”
