Boys Varsity lost to Brighton 11-9 on the road on Saturday afternoon. Ryan Sisitki led Midland in scoring with 3 goals and 2 assists. Elliot Moore had 3 goals, and Finn Moore had 2 goals and 1 assist. Chase Mahabir had 1 goal, and Curtis Mularz and Mason Reed each had 1 assist. Sisitki also led the team with 9 ground balls, Joey Cullinane won 8 faceoffs, and Jack Erickson made 19 saves in goal.
Head Coach Joe Stademaier commented: “There were a lot positive aspects to this game, but there was a critical stretch in the third quarter where our offense didn’t do a good job of possessing the ball, and that contrbuted to the defense allowing 5 consecutive goals. We were playing from behind from that point on and couldn’t quite make up the difference. Brighton is a very strong program and did a great job of converting some of our turnovers into goals.”
