The Midland girls' lacrosse team defeated visiting Haslett 21-4 Tuesday at Midland Stadium to wrap up its regular season with a 17-1 record.

Freshman Emma Murphy led a cast of varsity and JV players with six goals in the win.

"Haslett doesn't have a JV team, so we brought up the (players from our) JV team and everybody got some playing time," Midland coach MacKenzie Lipps said. "I think it was a nice opportunity and a good way to wrap up the season."

Jordyn Malace added four goals and an assist, while Grace Wilson had two goals and three assists. Gabby Wilson added two goals and two assists, while Delaney Abbott had two goals and an assist.

Erica Grenesko and Renee Mulvaney had a goal and an assist each. Chelsea Long, Rachel Applegate and Morgan Goudie added one goal apiece, and Meggie Gandy, Sofia Maher and Laura Hershauer each had an assist.

Midland (17-1), which was ranked 10th in the state last week, begins the postseason Friday at 5 p.m. at Midland Stadium against Grand Blanc.
