Boys Varsity advances to regional finals with 14-3 win over Grand Blanc

Senior co-captain Ryan Sisitki had four goals and one assist on Thursday to lead Midland to a 14-3 win over Grand Blanc in a Division 1 boys' lacrosse regional semifinal.

Midland (14-6) advances to play Hartland in a 6:30 p.m. regional final on Tuesday at Linden.

Sisitki was awarded the game ball afterward and Midland coach Joe Stadelmaier said he is "the heart and soul of our team."

Mason Reed, Chase Mahabir and Ryan Stadelmaier each had two goals and one assist for Midland. Ben Brueck had one goal and one assist, Jacob Tomsich, Lars George and Elliot Moore each scored once, and Finn Moore had one assist.

Midland led 8-1 at halftime.

Jack Erickson made 12 saves in goal and Reed, Christian Gordon and Sisitki had four ground balls each.Joey Cullinane won seven out of 14 faceoffs.

Hartland beat Midland 18-9 earlier this season and has a Towson-bound player, Reece Potter, who scored eight goals in that game. Hartland led 12-8 after three quarters before pulling away.
"They're just a solid team," Stadelmaier said of Hartland. "We played a good first half the last time. We just haven't been able to play a game (against Hartland) where we can put four good quarters together."
