Dow High alum David Keptner concluded a stellar career with Trine University’s men’s lacrosse team recently by earning All-MIAA First Team Defensive honors following a record-breaking senior season.

Keptner set school records for single-game turnovers caused with eight against Ohio Northern; for single-season turnovers caused with 46, which surpassed the previous record by 16; and for career turnovers caused with 108, which topped the previous record by 80.

In addition, Keptner collected a team-best 87 ground balls this season, which was the fourth-best single-season mark in program history and which gave him 241 ground balls for his career, the second-most in program history.

This marks the third time that Keptner has earned all-conference honors. He was named First Team All-MIAA in 2019 and Second Team All-MIAA in 2021 (awards were not given out in 2020).

"Dave has had a tremendous season and is very deserving of this honor," Trine coach Ryan Kuhn said on trinethunder.com. "He's been a leader for us both on and off the field and has become one of the most decorated players to have ever worn a Trine Jersey. He's had (a) dominant … season which will go down as one of the best for any defender in program history."
